I am a specialist ophthalmologist and eye surgeon, with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the macula and retina. The most common of these conditions are macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease.
After completing ophthalmology training at Prince of Wales hospital, I spent several years in sought-after international Medical Retina Fellowship positions at London’s Moorfields Eye Hospital and the Jules Stein Institute, UCLA, California. Alongside world-renowned retinal experts, here I honed my skills in the complexity of macula and retina disease.
I also became involved in leading edge research into new treatments and diagnostic techniques for diabetes, macula degeneration, branch vein occlusions, central vein occlusions and central serous retinopathy. I am also involved in ongoing research with several centres here in Australia. Since returning to Australia, I have been appointed to a Medical Retina sub-specialty position at Sydney’s Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. I established Northern Beaches Retina Cataract Glaucoma in 2010.
