Jeremy Tan MD, MMed, FRANZCO is a consultant ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist. He obtained his medical degree from the University of New South Wales and Master of Medicine from the University of Sydney. He completed his internship and residency at the St George and Sutherland hospitals, followed by accredited ophthalmology training at the Prince of Wales Hospital network, where he was the Professorial senior registrar in his final year. He subsequently undertook glaucoma subspecialty training at the St Paul’s Eye Unit, Royal Liverpool University hospital and Moorfields Eye hospital, London, where he gained invaluable exposure in the medical and surgical management of complex glaucoma cases.

Dr Tan is experienced in a range of surgical procedures including cataract surgery, selective laser trabeculoplasty, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (such as Hydrus and iStent inject), trabeculectomy, deep sclerectomy and aqueous shunt surgery.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Tan is passionate about research in glaucoma surgery and visual field testing, and regularly presents at national and international conferences. He is a conjoint senior lecturer at the University of Sydney and UNSW, and supervises students undertaking MD research projects.

Outside of work, Dr Tan enjoys spending time with his family, travelling and supporting Liverpool football club.
